Technology
Technology @ CSD
At CSD we provide students with technology appropriate for their age and academic needs.
We employ several methods to limit the content students are able to access on the internet as well as protecting our network and systems from cyber attacks. Our web filtering software is CIPA compliant and provides protection anytime a student is logged into a Chrome browser with their CSD account regardless of the device or network they are using.
At CSD, we use Google Workspace for Education. Google Workspace for Education is a set of education productivity tools from Google including Gmail, Calendar, Docs, and more used by tens of millions of students and teachers around the world. At CSD, students will use their Google Workspace for Education accounts to complete assignments, communicate with their teachers, sign into their Chromebooks, and learn 21st century digital citizenship skills. Only students in grades 8-12 will have access to email unless circumstances require access to email, such as enrolling in an NCVPS class prior to 8th grade.
At the beginning of each school year all students and parents/guardians attending CSD will be required to review and acknowledge our Acceptable Use Agreement for CSD Technology. The agreement will be sent to all families through ParentSquare or other appropriate communication methods.
All students and parents/guardians in grades 6-12 will also be required to acknowledge our Device Loaner Agreement and pay a modest Technology Fee. The agreement and payment will be provided through ParentSquare or other appropriate communication methods.
