  • Students and teachers eat lunch together in their classrooms and outside when possible. Students should bring a bag lunch, as well as a water bottle and snacks to school each day.  Since CSD does not have a cafeteria, we offer a delivered hot lunch program through a local restaurant.  Below is information and instructions on how to set up a lunch account and order hot lunch.

Nancy Godwin is the Director of CSD’s After School Care program.  She previously taught in the 2nd/3rd  loop and is now the elementary PE teacher.  She is dedicated to providing a safe and loving environment for the children in the After School Care program.

    Pick Up Late Fee Policy:

All students are to be picked up by 5:30 pm, promptly.

If you pick up your child(ren) after 5:30 pm, there will be a $10.00 late fee. Additionally, there will be a $10.00 fee for every 10 minutes past 5:30 pm until you pick up your child. For example, if you do not pick up your child(ren) until 6:00 pm, a late fee will be $30.00. The late fee payment must be paid upon late pick up of your child(ren) on the day of the event.

Repeated late pick up will result in your child's termination of attendance to this program.

We understand that traffic can be challenging, but we expect all children to be picked up on time. Traffic issues do not excuse the late fee policy.

    Payment Policy:

Payments are due BEFORE the first school day of the month for the month ahead. There is a $5.00 late fee for every day that the payment is late.

We look forward to having your children included in our program, and we appreciate your commitment to adhere to the program policies.

St. Christopher Center — Johns Island, SC

    Participation Form

    * Required for all guests attending the Barrier Island Program

    Emergency Contacts

Important: Please notify us if the participant was exposed to any communicable disease within 3 weeks of the session start date.

    Permission/Consent Legal Waiver Agreement

I understand my child's school/group holds primary responsibility for medical care and administering medications. If school/group personnel are not immediately available, or grant permission, I authorize Barrier Island/St. Christopher staff to render first aid and administer medication for emergencies (for example: antihistamines for allergic reactions, and, if provided, epinephrine for anaphylaxis).

If an emergency warrants referral to a licensed physician or medical facility for further evaluation and treatment, an attempt will be made to contact the parent/guardian (or emergency contact if adult). If that party cannot be reached, I hereby give permission to the school, Barrier Island/St. Christopher, and the selected physician to secure and administer treatment, including hospitalization. Medical providers will be instructed to send all bills directly to the parent/guardian/responsible party. This form may be copied as needed to provide medical care.

I give permission for my child (and/or myself if adult) to participate in all Barrier Island activities (see www.barrierisland.org for full description of all activities), except those noted as restrictions above. Except in cases of gross neglect, I release Barrier Island/St. Christopher/Diocese of South Carolina and all associated board members and staff from any liability which may arise out of the above-named participant's attendance at Barrier Island. I consent to photographs and interviews of my child (and myself) that may be published to illustrate and promote Barrier Island/St. Christopher/Diocese of South Carolina.

    Cabin Damage Policy

DAMAGES & EXCESSIVE CLEANING REIMBURSEMENT INDEMNITY

Our naturalists thoroughly clean occupied spaces after guests depart - scrubbing bathrooms, disinfecting mattresses, sweeping, and cleaning surfaces. Routine cleaning is included in all cabin rates. Guests who reserve cabins are expected to support this work by completing the cleaning checklist prior to departure.

In rare instances that a cabin, guest room, or reservable space is left excessively dirty or damaged (including but not limited to: extreme mess by the standards of St. Christopher management, excessive trash left behind in cabins, staining, the presence of biohazard materials, pet damage, smoke damage, or damage to infrastructure), the school/group shall be responsible for an assessed Excessive Cleaning & Damage Repair Fee of $150 to cover outsourced professional service rates, extra deep cleaning by our Guest Services staff, repairs by our Facilities staff, taking the space offline for the duration of cleaning/repair, and administrative costs of assessing damage and contracting required services. In cases of damage that exceeds $150, additional repair fees may be assessed at the discretion of St. Christopher.
