Hot Lunch and School Nutrition

Students and teachers eat lunch together in their classrooms and outside when possible. We do not have a cafeteria at CSD. Students should bring a bag lunch, as well as a water bottle and snacks to school each day. Please be aware that our K7 campus is a nut-free campus and that our primary concern is for our students’ health and safety. Below you can view our K-7 Campus Nut-Free Policy, we will enforce the policy accordingly.

An optional hot lunch is available daily through a pre-ordered, prepaid system via Matt's Chicago (ordering link below). All catered lunch options meet nutritional guidelines developed by our wellness and nutrition staff. Watch the Crier for announcements about ordering. The CSD application to apply for free or reduced lunch is linked below. If at any point during the school year, you believe you may qualify for this program, please submit an application.

IMPORTANT NOTES when ordering hot lunch:

* Please UPDATE your child's school and grade/teacher for the new school year to ensure your child's lunch is delivered to the correct class/school.

* Lunch must be cancelled 2 business days prior to delivery to receive a refund. When placing an order you are agreeing that if any unforeseen event causes school to close within 2 days of delivery, no refunds will be issued. If this occurs, un-refunded meals will be donated to a charity. Matt's Chicago can no longer credit or refund those orders if they fall outside the cancellation window because they have already purchased the food for those days.
