Parents play a pivotal role at Community School of Davidson. A vital partnership is created between the home and school with parents viewed as the child's first and most important teachers. We need and expect your help in educating our students.
We welcome and encourage parents into our school to volunteer in a variety of ways. We conduct volunteer training sessions to ensure that all volunteers are equipped with the skills needed to be successful with our students. We offer a variety of parent workshops throughout the year that are open to the public and free of charge. In addition, several book club opportunities are available for parents and teachers. We are anxious to effectively utilize the talents and skills of our parents for our students. We believe that including parents in our students' education strengthens our relationship and helps build a sense of community.
We consider parents to be our closest partners and want all of the energy in that partnership to be focused on the students at Community School of Davidson. Because of this close partnership, we feel strongly that families join our school only if they are comfortable with our philosophy. In order to understand our philosophy of instruction, we strongly encourage parents to attend one of our Open House sessions which are offered both during the day and evening in the months of October through January.
It is important to note that CSD K-7 School Campus is currently nut free and nut products can only be consumed in the "Commons Area" at our 8th grade/HS campus.
