The Lottery Registration period for the 2017-18 school year has ended.
You are welcome to print out an "After Deadline" registration form and fax/scan/drop off at CSD, but it will NOT be run through the lottery. Instead, your child's name will be added to the bottom of the wait list once the lottery is run on February 27, 2017, in order of when we receive it. Please scroll down to the instructions under "Paper Registration" below. 

Community School of Davidson (CSD) is a North Carolina public Charter School and we welcome students of any race, color, and national or ethnic origin. No tuition or any other fees are required to attend our school.

CSD will have an open enrollment period beginning on October 1 and ending on January 31 each school year for admission for the following school year. All registrants who submit a registration during the open enrollment period will be admitted unless the number of registrants at the applicable grade level exceeds the number of openings at that grade level. If the number of registrants exceeds the number of openings at a grade level, a lottery will be held to determine admission. Once openings are filled, the lottery draw will continue to determine the order of a wait list. The current year wait list will dissolve on January 15 of that school year. The CSD Board of Education will determine the number of openings at each grade level prior to the lottery.

This year, in accordance with the revised CSD Lottery Policy, the CSD Board will determine a number of lottery openings to be reserved for students who qualify for free or reduced lunch, under the National School Lunch Program ("Qualifying Students").  That determination has not yet been made by the Board for the 2017-18 school year.  Due to high enrollment numbers in grades 3-7, we do not anticipate any openings being reserved at those grade levels for Qualifying Students.  For grades K-2 and 8-12, we do anticipate one or more slots per grade level potentially being reserved for Qualifying Students.  REGISTRATION AS A QUALIFYING STUDENT IS OPTIONAL.  To clarify, we are not running a separate lottery for Qualifying Students; these students will still be included in the general lottery with the potential for having a priority admission status.  There will be a check box on the lottery registration form to indicate a desire to be entered into the lottery as a Qualifying Student.  The standards for qualification can be found at the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction website, at: http://www.dpi.state.nc.us/newsroom/news/2016-17/20160729-01.  If your child is admitted as a Qualifying Student and would not have otherwise been admitted, proof of income reflecting qualifying status will be required (and if your family does not qualify, your child will not be admitted).

Online Registration – This is the preferred method due to the large volume of registration forms received.

  1. We recommend using a PC or laptop to register. Using a handheld device (smartphone, IPad, IPod, Tablet, etc.) is not recommended as there is a risk of unsuccessful submission. 

  2. Please take your time and read all information contained in the form carefully!

  3. Please use a valid email address when prompted.

  4. Use TAB key to navigate through form, not the ENTER key!

  5. Avoid using the “BACK” button on your browser.

  6. You must hit “Submit” on the last page of the form in order to successfully register!

  7. A confirmation email containing your registration number will be sent to the email address you entered on the form immediately after submission. IF YOU DO NOT RECEIVE A CONFIRMATION EMAIL IMMEDIATELY, THEN YOUR REGISTRATION DID NOT GO THROUGH AND YOUR CHILD'S NAME WILL NOT BE RUN THROUGH THE LOTTERY!  YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ENSURING YOU RECEIVE A REGISTRATION NUMBER…PLEASE CONTACT SUNNY MONTGOMERY AT lottery@csdspartans.org FOR HELP.  On a few occasions, the confirmation email will be found in your spam folder since the subject line contains the word “lottery”, so be sure to check there before emailing us!

  8. Please print out your confirmation email and keep in a safe place for your reference!
