2021-22 School Year Enrollment

The 2021-22 School Year Lottery is open to the public and is scheduled to occur during one of our board meetings on Tuesday, February 23, 2021, at 4:00 pm, at our High School campus in the Black Box Theater, located at 404 Armour Street, Davidson 28036.

Community School of Davidson (CSD) is a North Carolina Public Charter School and we welcome students of any race, color, and national or ethnic origin. No tuition or any other fees are required to attend our school.

Community School of Davidson will have an open enrollment period beginning October 1, 2020 and ending January 31, 2021 for admission for the 2021-2022 school year.

All registrants who submit a registration during the open enrollment period will be admitted
unless the number of registrants at the applicable grade level exceeds the number of openings at that grade level. If the number of registrants exceeds the number of openings at a grade level, a lottery will be held to determine admission. Once openings are filled, the lottery draw will continue to determine the order of a wait list.

*The current school year wait list will dissolve on January 15, 2021.
*The CSD Board of Education will determine the number of openings at each grade level prior to the lottery.

Qualifying Student Registration

In accordance with the revised CSD Lottery Policy, the CSD Board will determine a number of lottery openings to be reserved for students who qualify for free or reduced lunch, under the National School Lunch Program ("Qualifying Students"). That determination has not yet been made by the Board for the 2021-22 school year. Due to high enrollment numbers in grades 3, 5-7, we do not anticipate any openings being reserved at those grade levels for Qualifying Students.  For grades K-1 and 8-12, we do anticipate one or more slots per grade level potentially being reserved for Qualifying Students.  


To clarify, we are not running a separate lottery for Qualifying Students; these students will still be included in the general lottery with the potential for having a priority admission status.  There will be a check box on the lottery registration form to indicate a desire to be entered into the lottery as a Qualifying Student. The standards for qualification can be found at the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction website, at: https://childnutrition.ncpublicschools.gov/information-resources/eligibility/eligibility-income-eligibility-guidelines

If your child is admitted as a Qualifying Student and would not have otherwise been admitted,
proof of income reflecting qualifying status will be required (and if your family does not qualify, your child will not be admitted). 

In addition, CSD does offer Free and Reduced Lunch to students who qualify for the National School Lunch Program, regardless of the reason they were admitted.     


Online Registration – This is the preferred method due to the large volume of registration forms received.


  2. Be sure to use a valid email address when prompted.

  3. Please remember that if you have more than one child to register and you choose OPTION 2, you must submit a separate registration form for each individual child.  

  4. A confirmation email containing your Registration Number will be sent to the email address you entered on the form shortly after submission. If you do not receive your Registration Number by email confirmation or by mail, after you submit your registration form(s), then your registration did not go through and your child will not be run through the lottery. YOU are responsible for ensuring you receive a Registration Number. Please contact us via email, to confirm receipt of registration, if you are in doubt.  On a few occasions registrants have found their email confirmation in their SPAM folder, because our confirmation emails contain the word "lottery", so be sure to check there before you email us at lottery@csdspartans.org for assistance.

  5. Please print out your confirmation email and keep in a safe place for your reference.

Please note: A separate form must be completed for each child you wish to register. You may return the form(s) via fax, scanned or return to either campus of CSD, but please note that it will NOT be run through the lottery as the lottery was held in February 2020.  Instead, your child's name will be added to he bottom of the wait list for the grade level your child is being registered for, in order of when we receive it.
