Concussion Action Plan

In compliance with state regulations, Novant health has helped CSD develop a Concussion Action Plan which includes Emergency Action Plans for all home practice and game venues, concussion presentations at seasonal Mandatory Sports Meetings, signed Student-Athlete/Parent Concussion Education Statements, Coach/Volunteer Concussion Education Statements (required for try-outs) and Post-Concussion Return to Play procedure/documentation (required post concussion injury). Our Athletic Department also conducts Baseline Concussion Testing, provided by Novant Health, to all student-athletes prior to the respective sports season.  The Baseline is conducted every two years.

Heat Advisory & Severe Weather Policy
For the safety of coaches and athletes, CSD has developed Heat Illness & Hydration guidelines. Please click the link for a copy of the current guidelines: Heat Illness & Hydration Guidelines. CSD also follows a specific policy for severe weather.  Please click link for our Lightning Policy.

Sports Physicals
In compliance with NCHSAA regulations, all student-athletes are required to submit a pre-participation sports medical form prior to tryouts.  Sports physicals are only good for 365 days.  Student-athletes are not allowed to try-out or participate in sports without a current NCHSAA medical form on file at CSD.  These should be turned into the Athletics Department, Attn: Jill Cashion, at the MS or HS.
